For nearly three decades, The National Dance Company of Ireland’s Rhythm of the Dance has brought the music, dance and spirit of Ireland to audiences around the world. Today, it stands as the second most popular Irish step dance production touring globally. This internationally acclaimed production returns to North America in Spring 2028.
Featuring a dynamic young cast of World and Irish Champion dancers, outstanding traditional musicians and gifted vocalists, Rhythm of the Dance showcases an extraordinary level of Irish talent—performing live on stage.
From lightning-fast Irish step dancing and traditional Sean-nós to contemporary choreography, this two-hour production takes audiences on a journey through Ireland’s rich cultural heritage. The dancers are joined on stage by live musicians performing on fiddle, flute, accordion, guitar and traditional percussion, along with Irish vocalists who add to the richness and excitement of the live performance.
While deeply rooted in Irish tradition, Rhythm of the Dance continues to evolve, introducing new choreography, music and theatrical elements that keep the production fresh and exciting for both first-time audiences and those returning to experience the show again.
Cutting-edge lighting, sound and digital backdrops complement the traditional music and dance, creating a production that honors Ireland’s past while bringing its culture vividly to life for today’s audiences.
