Few American rock artists created a body of music as instantly recognizable—or as enduring—as Tom Petty. From his beginnings in Gainesville, Florida, to worldwide success with The Heartbreakers, as a solo artist and as a member of the Traveling Wilburys, Petty built a remarkable career spanning more than four decades.
Florida native Todd Pitts discovered Petty’s music growing up in the ’70s, and those songs have been part of his musical life ever since. A decade ago, Pitts formed THE BREAKDOWN, and today, as the band’s frontman, he leads a group of accomplished musicians in celebrating the unmistakable sound and remarkable songbook of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
THE BREAKDOWN captures the spirit of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers at the height of their touring years—the distinctive vocals, guitars, harmonies and musicianship that made them one of America’s great rock & roll bands.
