Since 1962, The New Christy Minstrels have delighted audiences with legendary recordings and unforgettable live concerts. At a time when folk music was dominated by duos and trios, founder Randy Sparks envisioned a new sound built around a larger chorus of voices. The results were electrifying—the group’s very first album earned a Grammy Award and launched a remarkable musical legacy.
Today, audiences can once again experience the songs that helped define The New Christy Minstrels, including “This Land Is Your Land,” “Today (While the Blossoms Still Cling to the Vine),” “Saturday Night,” “Green, Green” and many more, along with a journey through the great American folk music songbook.
The re-launched group includes an all-star cast of fan-favorite NCM alumni spanning the last 50 years, ensuring that the authentic sound and spirit of The New Christy Minstrels remains intact. With beloved classics, rich vocal harmonies, classic folk instrumentation and the group’s trademark enthusiasm, The New Christy Minstrels deliver a warm, engaging concert that brings the songs and spirit of the great American folk era back to the stage.
